Caring for our furry friends: Lucas

The Mohave County Animal Shelter aims to provide the best treatment and medical care for our shelter animals. These treatments have been deemed necessary to ensure the well-being of those in their care and while they attempt to minimize cost, some expenses are necessary.

Your support helps MCAS deliver timely and necessary treatments to furry friends like Lucas.

Lucas came to Mohave County Animal Shelter as a stray.  At the time he was rescued he had a large abscess on his neck, and with antibiotics was not reducing in size.  Friends of Mohave County Animal Shelter were then asked if they could provide funds to subsidize the surgery to remove the abscess.  As it turns out the abscess was caused by a .45 caliber bullet.  Lucas is recovering nicely as a guest at the shelter and will be ready for adoption very soon.
